Get in touch with your body and brain. Immerse yourself in a sensational experience as the connection between breath and body are explored in the following styles:
yin yoga offers a slow, quiet class - expect long holds, deep release of the connective tissue and awareness of sensations;
hatha yoga is more active and aligns body and breath - expect to hold poses for 5 breaths;
vinyasa yoga is faster-paced and heat producing - expect to link each breath to a movement; and
yin/yang which combines yin and vinyasa in one class.
Whichever style calls to you, improvements in both physical and mental well-being can be expected. Physical benefits include enhanced flexibility, strength, and balance, as well as better posture. Yoga aids in relieving stress, reducing anxiety, and calming the mind. A yoga practice provides an opportunity for self-reflection and mindfulness, helping to cultivate a deeper connection with oneself which enables individuals to attain a sense of overall harmony and inner peace - a transformative experience.
Yoga
During the prenatal and postnatal period, strength training helps women to build and maintain muscle strength, which can provide support to the changing body during pregnancy. It also helps to minimise common discomforts such as back pain and fatigue. Additionally, strength training promotes better posture, balance, and stability, which can be beneficial during labor and delivery.
Yoga poses and breathing exercises can aid in relieving common pregnancy symptoms such as bloating and swollen ankles. Both strength training and yoga are safe and effective ways to nurture the body and mind during the prenatal and postnatal period.

Breathwork
Breathing correctly is of utmost importance for our overall well-being, especially when coupled with exercise.
Alone, proper breathing techniques can have a profound impact on physical, mental and emotional health. Deep breathing helps to relax muscles, reduce the presence of stress-inducing hormones, decrease blood pressure and heart rate, all by calming the sympathetic (fight/freeze/flight) nervous system and stimulating the para-sympathetic (rest-and-digest) nervous system. By practicing mindful and conscious breathing, one can experience a sense of calmness and inner peace. Concentration and focus improve, anxiety and stress reduce, lung capacity increases and respiratory function improves.
Meditation helps to cultivate a deep connection with our mind, body, and spirit. It helps us to focus our attention, alleviate stress, and enhance our overall well-being. Through regular meditation, we can enhance our self-awareness, develop a more positive outlook on life, and gain a better understanding of ourselves. It encourages us to let go of negative thoughts and emotions, promoting a healthier mental state.
Furthermore, meditation has been proven to have numerous physical and mental health benefits, such as reducing blood pressure, improving concentration, and boosting our immune system. In a world filled with constant distractions, taking the time to meditate is a powerful tool that allows us to nurture our mind and restore balance in our lives.
